Out and about with my Pink Lining Blooming Gorgeous Changing Bag

Hi!   How are you all doing?

We have had such beautiful days these last few weeks and we did enjoy the weather and you? I know that recently some of you in UK and France, have had some flooding. I hope you are all sage and secure.

My today blogpost is about a mummy essential: changing Bag/Hand Bag.

Sorry for the delay on publishing this one but it seems that our Internet network has suffered a lot these few days too meaning I was unable to use as I wanted my connexion.

But here we are, trying to keep things back in track.

So why a blogpost about a bag?

Simply because I have always been a bag Demoiselle/ Lady.  I surely love Bags and a bit fanatic about them meanwhile, I have never spent more that £50 on one ,this being my really higher price. {Little exception here for my so beautiful Lalla Bag from Ilham’s}

Once I had my first daughter I realised that having a handbag and a changing bag is not the most practical thing. You just try to jungle everytime between both and at the end you look more like a coat hanger if you see what I mean. So I finally bought a changing Bag at Mothercare for around £30. I have not been really satisfied. It was big, not pretty at all and after one year of use, already tearing apart. So not impressed.

When Baba2 arrived, I went for a “cheap” bag bought at B&M bargain for around £15 if I remember well. I liked it even if not the most trendy bag but did the job. Baba1 was potty trained so used it for only one baby.

I still have this bag but do not use it anymore as it is not the right size. It was perfect for newborn cloth nappies but not for huge toddler ones 🙂

So I decided to go in a hunt to find the perfect changing bag that will last this time and be very useful whatever the situation and number of babies and will be a bit more “trendy” for me to be a bit more happy.

pink lining logoDo you know Pink Lining? I am in love with this brand and products since pregnant of Baba1 but found the bags too pricey for us. But I absolutely wanted to try before Baba3 arrives. So I have been tracking all retailers, websites, discounts all over the internet to find the best deals.

Best offer all collections and styles was about 20% OFF. Unfortunately not enough for me, when obviously I wanted to try few styles. So I ended up searching on Ebay. I usually try to avoid Ebay as much as possible for many reasons that are not the subject of this post. But well, after few weeks, I have been lucky to find the BLOOMING GORGEOUS Bag I was looking for, Brand New for £40! I bought it. New in its original packaging from an individual who was selling very regularly Pink Lining bags. After few searches, It was a shop selling their unsold items from previous collections. Lucky me!

Pink Lining Blooming Gorgeous Changing Bag review

Why a Blooming gorgeous Bag? I love the shape of it more than the well known Yummy Mummy Bag!

I needed and wanted a bag to be able to fit all these and more without all being a mess:

Blooming Gorgeous Pink Lining Changing Bag Features

From Pink Lining website:

A vintage inspired shape for the Blooming Gorgeous bag with a beautiful daffodil applique on the outside front pocket.

This bag features the Dragonfly print and is everything you need in a baby changing bag! It is slightly wider than some of our other styles giving you more room for all your baby bits and bobs.

On the exterior of the bag there is a large canvas pocket with the Blooming Gorgeous slogan and patch and two side pockets in body fabric.

The bag comes with an adjustable shoulder strap that is long enough to fit over any pram/buggy handle bars.

Out and About with the Pink Lining Blooming Gorgeous Bag

I really struggled to really see if everything will fit on it and how really the bag looks like so I made a little video to show you in case you are hesitating.

My point of view/ Review

  1. Size of the Bag: The bag is quite big but not massive, larger than my other bags, I like the fact that I can organize my stuff in it without everything being squeezed.
  2. Quality: The canvas is really good, heavy duty and well made. The lining is quite thin, I am not sure it won’t tear off after a lot of uses.
  3. Overall capacity: Very good and I love all the pockets. I do not think the mirror is useful. Clearly contains easily 2 to 3 cloth nappies and wipes, so good point here. I am not sure if the bag is wide enough for 2 babies in clothes so need to update later on this matter.
  4. Extra features: Very useful and handy to have a wet bag included and a changing mat of a good size. The little plus: the pen holder! How many time have I lost my pen in my bag and unable to find it when required :-p
  5. Price: It is clearly a good quality bag but will I pay £79 for it? No. The “Pregnancy-Mum-to-be” Market is a bit like the “wedding” one. I do feel that because we {mums/women} tend to be really emotional with our purchases, some play with prices. So, I do suggest that you keep your eyes wide open on ebay and quite regularly on amazon too, you might find your lovely Pink Lining Bag for 50% off { I have been lucky to grab another one for £30 to use as a maternity bag}.

Conclusion: I love my bag and have no regret! I do get out everytime with it and I am more than happy with my purchase {at 50% off}. It comes everywhere with us now and all our family members can put/ bring what they need. 🙂
