Some comfy and funky Leggings for my Kids: Blade & Rose Review

Today, Blade & Rose is launching their new A/W16 Collection. My eldest daughter suffered eczema and allergies since baby so for me, it has been always very clear that she will wear only leggings and cotton. In fact, I had no choice, as soon as I was putting something else on her legs, we will notice eczema patches few hours later appearing. Her wardrobe was mainly leggings and cotton dresses/Tops, nothing else. Because organic clothes are not really affordable, and I am not an extremist and can combine with our lifestyle exigence {income etc.}, I am honestly saying that I DO buy non organic cloths. What I am looking for FIRST is the comfort a cloth can afford for a child. Designs, patterns are and have always been the latest thing I am looking for. What I want is my daughters to be FREE of any movement in what they wear: crawling, running, jumping, climbing, anything a child wants to experiment really. I hate jeans, or any rigid fabrics and therefore, I do not choose this kind …

REVIEW: Little Green Radicals, Children clothes made from 100% organic Fairtrade Cotton

Little Green Radicals…. Let’s rock the organic Children! Like a name of a Rock Music band, the brand name promises by itself something that will make you rock and a bit rebellious: something different. And I love differences, love things that do not follow the trends that are unique , with a style and character of their own. I am a bit new to LGR {Little Green Radicals} – I have discovered them in marsh/April so not so far. It has been love at first sight. LGR is different. LGR brings you another kind of children clothing and patterns inspired by Asia, mostly India vibes. The first time I saw their SS16 collection, it brought me there, this place I always loved and wanted to be. A place in my mind between Europe and Asia with a mix of designs, colours and textures, sounds and smells: an in-between world subtly combined. Anyone knowing me will know that I have a passion for Asia and its colourful landscapes. It was a time in my life when I …

Controversial new Tots Bots Collaboration with Joules : Annabella Floral print

This morning at 10.00 am, Tot Bots has released what was supposed to be a great news. I was so after this news. Well, I have not been disappointed. What Did Tots Bots reveal? Their brand new Collaboration with Joules, a “High Street” Clothing UK Brand. The first nappy print they revealed was the Annabella Floral Print. My first reactions and impressions were: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! I need this print, no not I need, I want this print. You just need to have a look at my “logo” to understand. I am a flowers lover, a bobo in my heart and soul and I TOTALLY assume it. I am absolutely crazy about these kinds of Vintage chic prints, very british. Then,  I was like a headless chicken: Who is stocking them? How not to miss it? I need one in teenyfit? Will they be doing any teenyfit? Who should I contact to secure one? How much? Can someone tell me where to buy? It was really funny. I really love the print, I am totally honest. After the emotional …

Grimm’s Rainbows : Little Earth Farm Shop Review

As mentioned in my previous post about raising a bilingual child and Waldorf education, we were looking for fabulous toys to help us in our daughter preparation to Reception 1 this summer. We have chosen Grimm’s wooden Toys for their special features and quality. We then had to decide from who to buy. A lot of shops sell them but our ethos is always to buy from independent sellers and help them build their eco-friendly business and to be honest, I absolutely love encouraging family or work at home mums businesses! We could have bought them from our usual shop but as I said, what we are looking for, is help everyone develop. Big retailers, small retailers as soon as they encounter our Lifestyle. The shop we have chosen to HIGHLIGHT today is: Who are they? They are a family business run by Anna and Stuart. They love handmade, quality, unique pieces, lovingly crafted by talented artisans. They deeply believe in making a difference and striving for a better World. They have opened their little shop one year …

Raising a bilingual child: Waldorf education and Grimm’s Wooden toys

Holidays are coming very soon and our little not to say our very grown up Baba1 is going to enrol in Reception 1 in September. We wanted to help her the best for what next year will bring in her little life: new challenges, new expectations and new experiences. We have always encouraged learning through activities and playtime since she is very young. She is very creative and loves manual activities. It definitely helps her to concentrate and learn. It is not always easy to get a young child attention and do deliver a content, most of all to make sure the content is integrated. Because she is being raised in a bi/trilingual environment, we are quite active in all aspects of her education. Baby, her speech was delayed. She started speaking only when she was 2 and a half years old. We were not really worried as she clearly understood and pointed at things. When she started nursery, she was familiar to English but just a bit. Raising a bilingual child demands to make …

Green Beauty: Bye bye shower gels, Friendly Soap now takes care of all my tribe!

It is a long time I have not shared with you a bit of green beauty tips. Did I stop? Absolutely not. I have been just very busy testing a lot of fabulous products for my family and I. As a good tester, I take my time to gather a maximum of informations and share with you an in-depth experience. Because beauty is a bit complicated and beauty products have a tendency to be very good when you start with them and after few weeks of use, you can get very confused and change your mind. Are you a shower gel addict/user? This simple question can elevate a lot of opinions. Most of people love them and swear just by them. Did you know that: “Gels first appeared in British bathrooms in the Seventies. Today (2011) some 200 million bottles are sold in Britain every year”* There was a time, I loved them and used them a lot. My favorite ones were those of well know french fragrance designers. I enjoyed the fact that they always leave …

Return to Cloth Nappies with Baby number 2: NEWBORN CLOTH NAPPIES STASH

So let’s start again. After our failure with Baba1 when I learnt I was pregnant with Baba2, I decided to change my view of cloth nappies. Restart from the beginning because for us it was clear if we failed first time we will not accept it a second time! We may have lost a battle but not the war against disposables. So my first goal was: GET INFORMED! I mean well informed. I wanted to understand everything and make sure that I knew what I was buying, how to use it, pros and cons and all the possible alternatives available, all the brands, everything really. My days were busy looking at Blogs and Vlogs. The first thing you need to do is to get familiar with the glossary. It is just like a foreign language, if you do not understand it, you cannot speak it. You see? Get familiar with all the different styles of nappies, fabrics, everything. I made my own modest Cloth nappies glossary if that can help. Once you understand what it is …

Holztiger Story Set by Little Acorn to Mighty Oaks

Since few weeks, my interest for Holztiger animals has grown and grown. We love wooden toys and clearly we rather buy wooden toys to plastic ones for many reasons. They last longer, they are safer, healthier and they are durable! And most of all, they offer plenty themes for imaginative and pretend play. Tired of silly songs all day long, I wanted to connect our children to sensations, real and bright memories that will help them build, grow their imagination and encourage their development and I should say it is not always easy. I have sadly noticed that healthier alternatives are often more expensive but you do not need to switch all you have at once. Change takes time: little by little you grow and you change. So let’s start together this journey. Why Holztiger animals? Simply because I have heard about them so much and did not understood why people were so excited and enthusiastic about them. I thought I should see by myself and see if it is just a “fashion” mummy thing or if really children will enjoy it. …

Budleigh Salterton: an afternoon out to the beach with Klean Kanteen

Living in Devon and the south coast is really a luck. We moved from York to Exeter four years ago. We have discovered such beautiful things here and what we are enjoying the most is the clement weather and the stunning landscapes. If you come on holidays in Devon, near Exeter, I cannot recommend you enough to have a look and go for a walk in all the beautiful beaches you can find here. But, if you are looking for a peaceful landscape, a magical seaside, I do recommend you Budleigh Salterton. Sidemouth is not bad too but there is something really particular with Budleigh. It is a really small, familiar town and quiet seaside. Definitely, our favorite place to go after school or when we need a bit of a fresh and revitalizing air. We just love the appeasing atmosphere…never crowded and the little shops around are so lovely. Near the seaside, there are some Children parks and our daughters love to finish our walk by playing there! We have  a kind of ritual. Let’s …

Cloth Nappy journey Part 1: Glossary and starter Set

Our journey into cloth nappies started when I discovered I was pregnant for the first time, five years ago. We decided that it will be great to make this little change and offer our baby what we think and believe is the best: a natural start into this world. I started my researches taking my future mums role very seriously only when I was 24 weeks pregnant because before I was convinced it was irrelevant {you know these myths around pregnancy}. My first ever step was to understand all the kind of cloth nappies you can find around. Real Nappies GLOSSARY Here are some basics that might be helpful for you too if you are starting your journey. I tried to keep things simple. ALL IN ONE Nappies {AIO}: these cloth nappies are just like disposables. They are the easiest and most expensive but not always the more efficient. You really have only one part to your nappy. Sometimes to help with the drying time and for extra boosting {= to add more absorbency} , …
