“My Little Piccolo” new tastes: organic healthy food for out and about

Today, let’s talk again about My Little Piccolo. Few months ago, I shared with you my review about this organic baby food range that has a particular Mediterranean taste. My Little Piccolo has launched very recently four new tastes to their Stage One range. We were delighted to be asked to test and review the new range as My Little Piccolo is a favourite in our home: in fact the only one we use for the moment. I normally do my own purees by using my Beaba Baby cooker  and stocking them in reusable pouches. But with three little ones to care for, I do not always have the time to prepare some, so we now stock always some My Little Piccolo goodness in our cupboard for those days when I am too lazy to cook/prepare a new batch. Mummy’s life ! When I moved to the UK back in 2010, I remember I was looking for apple “puree” – compote de pommes in french – to bake a french apple tart. I now know that it is called …

Dairy free Fondant Cocoa Brownie recipe

Saturday, we went to the farm School at Shillingford Organics in Exeter and with the children we harvested some sunset apples. It was a fabulous day and I was so proud of Baba1! It was a  but sunny morning so when we came back home I decided to reheat my Babas by baking a chocolate cake. This recipe is really easy to make and yummy. This brownie has been so successful that nothing was left! Dairy free Pineapple upside down Cake Recipe

Sunday, I decided to spend a special moment with Baba1. I know that she loves baking a lot and now that she can eat well cooked eggs, we try to make together a bit more cakes that she can enjoy. At 5 years old, I think it is a good time to teach her some basic culinary skills and I am sure she will enjoy doing it. Retro rocks! Because I love the classics and pass on my memories to my daughters I choose the classic pineapple upside-down cake with a Dairy- Free twist. And believe me it always makes a fun centre piece for afternoon tea and brings back many childhood memories. Together, we prepared all the ingredients and put them in a tray. Head off the living room because our kitchen will not allow her to be at ease. Dairy Free Pineapple Upside down Cake Recipe Ingredients: ~ 1 can coconut milk ~ 1 can pineapple rings {7 approximately} in light syrup , drained ~ 1 cup Cocofina Coconut Sugar ~ 2 1/2 cups self raising flour …

Easy Vegetarian Curry Recipe for Beginners

Good morning! Monday, a new week is starting and it is this time again to share some recipes with you. Always following a dairy free diet with a paleo spirit. We are, in our house, great fans of curries and particularly the Korma one. Maybe because it is totally new for our taste buds – curries not really being part of the french or Moroccan traditional cuisine – I always wanted to make one from scratch. Asian cuisine is so different that I was afraid and did not know where to start, I think did not want to mess around. What did help me and give me the confidence to try? The Cocofina Creamed Coconut*! It has such a creamy and intense test . I love it. Now it becomes an essential in my new diet as it gives you so much choice. Usually in curries recipe you put yoghurt or coconut milk, but as my diet is dairy free and I was unsure about coconut milk, my first try had to be with the creamed coconut. …

Little Green Sheep Cot Bed Organic Mattress and Mattress Protector Review

Today, I thought it is time to review the mattress we chose for our cot bed and to explain our choice. During five years, we have been using the same Ikea Mattress and bed for our two other daughters. Why? Baba1 barely used them. She co-slept in our bed until she was approximately two years old and then moved to a single bed. She never wanted to sleep in her cot bed. She might have slept in it for 3 hours in 3 years! As you can imagine we absolutely did not expect this and did not choose co-sleeping at first. For these reasons, we did not buy any new mattress or bed for Baba2. Baba2 did not co-sleep with us. She loved sleeping in her Moses Basket and at five months when her Moses Basket started to be a bit too small, we planned to move her into the UN-FAMOUS cot bed. But we went on holidays in France for 6 weeks and therefore brought with us a travel cot. She enjoyed so much sleeping on her travel cot that …

Bambinomio Miosolo Cloth Nappy review and new Aldi Prints!

Bambinomio is one of my favourites cloth nappy. When I first stashed for Baba2 I did not hear about them. My first Bambino miosolo nappy has been bought a week before I gave birth only because I received a special offer email from Emma’s diary. It was a lilac Bambinomio miosolo. And since this first buy, I bought many, many, many more {certainly too much} for Baba2 and Baba3. I can say without shame: it is an addiction and I love this All in One Cloth Nappy. I have used them a lot on my Baba2 from 3 months old to 24 months old. I did not have any leak with them as you can easily boost them. My daughter {Baba2} do not go to nursery yet, but if she did, Bambinomio Miosolo nappies would have been my choice. They are the easiest nappy I have in my stash to use and clean. With no doubt and anxiety, they are the one I ask my husband to use when I am away and he handles them with no fear …

Cocoonababy , the Red Castle baby Nest Review

When I was pregnant with Baba3, at around 7 months we started thinking bedding solution. Having a new baby is tiring but the sleep depravation it comes with is exhausting. So, no need to say, a good bed for a good baby sleep is essential, even vital for our sleep. I co-slept with my two other daughters with a Moses Basket near to my bed side. Co-sleeping is the natural and less wearying solution when breastfeeding. This is the one I chose. We first wanted to try the Snuzpod, see if it was worth it but after more thoughts, we had already a Moses basket and a cot bed and we ended up not willing to change. What was the point to buy a new piece of furniture even if this one is fabulous? We decided that we would use the Moses Basket for the first few weeks before to switch to a cot bed. It was clear from the beginning that we did not want baby to get used too much to her Moses Basket. Why? …

Dairy, gluten, peanuts and Tree Nuts FREE Coco Bliss Energy Balls Recipe

Before I started my diet change and during my pregnancy, I used to start my day by eating some cereals or wholemeal bread. Before my pregnancy I loved starting the day with a porridge bowl and a smoothie. Well, now I really do not have time to prepare myself an elaborated breakfast. So this morning It was one of this day, I am sure you know them too, you just run, run and run. And between two things, you try to eat something. I prepared in less than 5 minutes these bliss Balls that are so practical to eat, even when feeding a baby and out. They are sugar free, gluten, dairy and nuts free. You need: 2 Tbsp coconut oil 1/4 cup  coconut flour 1/4 cup unsweetened desiccated coconut few sultanas Mix all together, form some balls and put in the fridge 10 minutes! That’s it. Now you can eat whenever you need some energy as a snack or breakfast.

Coping with a CMP and Nut free Diet with Cocofina, The Coconut Expert Products Range

Since I gave birth in middle of July, I am working hard on my diet… Before I got pregnant I was following a keto diet: a real one with 80-90% lipids, 5% carbs and 5 % proteins. Then for baby, I followed a “normal” diet. Now I am trying to get back to my previous diet without compromising my breastfeeding journey – Breast Milk supply . I will start a mixed paleo and keto diet with approximately 70 % fat, 15 % proteins and 15 % carbs. Plus I need to have a diet free from MCP {Milk Cow Proteins} , peanuts and all tree nuts sue to baby allergies. When I realised all the things I need to cut off from my diet, I was first very terrified because last time, when I was on a ketogenic mode, I was mainly eating cheese, whole milk, and nuts butters! How would I get what I need and enjoy my food? Well, I have also 30kgs to loose but how not to get frustrated? This is …

{French Yoghurt Cake recipe} A simple birthday for our 2 years old daughter

Last week I have been a very busy bee between Baby allergies, Baba1 first day to reception year and Baba2 2 years birthday! I wake up early and prepared the gifts for both of them. I kept it simple and cosy. When I was a child my mum used to bake us a yogurt cake, a well known recipe used by every household, at least in the 80’s. The principle of this easy recipe is to reuse the yoghurt jar as a measuring tool. It is one of the first cake we teach and make with children. Yogurt cake recipe: Easy, you see! My cake made, I put some chocolat ganache and few sparkles. Ready! We decided that we will offer her only the Grimm’s Wheel. We waited Baba1’s return from school to celebrate. Cake and gift on the table, Grimm’s wheel and Piccalilly birthday Card, and let’s go. I put some ballons in the playroom as I knew that Baba1 would be very happy. Let’s start the play! 🙂 We laughed a lot all together. …
