#AlhamdulillahForSeries, a muslim’s mini Gratitude Journal by Ayeina

ayeina-200x200bFew months ago, I have been lucky to discover on Instagram Ayeina. I fell in love with all the beautiful drawings and graphics Ayeina was designing and publishing. Impressed by the watercolors and the deep message Ayeina is sending: Gratitude for each thing we are lucky to have in our life, I was excited to see the launch of their first Mini Gratitude Journal.

The day to day life can push us away from our thoughts and we get tuned to be ungrateful and not to see the blessings in our life. We focus all our energy and attention towards finding out what we lack or the not so good sides forgetting the essentials. Being more positive and showing gratitude leads us for a more productive approach to life.

And not only it is important To show gratitude in our adult life but it is even more essential to teach this positive attitude to our children.

One of the first Surah I learnt as a child and I taught to my daughters is Surah al-Fatihah. Why am I mentioning this here? Simply because this surah starts  with “Alhamdulillah”. So surely one of the word we repeat the most is Alhamdulillah, we express our gratitude for the countless blessings showered upon us. Have you ever noticed that many duas taught by the Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) also start with the same expression of gratitude?

Even the morning supplication starts with, “Alhamdulillah” {alladhi ahyana ba’da ma amatana} (All praise and thanks be to the One who gave us life after making us dead).

#ElhamdulillahForSeries A muslim's mimi gratitude bookHow to teach this to a child and to make it a routine in life? Teaching to be grateful to Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) for what He has already blessed us since childhood is important. Here are few interesting things to do together, ,why not before bed time:

  1. Sit with your child and make a list of 10 things that you appreciate: You can just say them together if your child is too young or write “Alhamdulillah” in front of every blessing – The mini Gratitude book is really useful for this. It helps increase positivity and attract more happiness, abundance and prosperity in your life.
  2. Appreciate the little things together: Start looking for everything you can be grateful for in life and start talking about it together, no matter how insignificant it is. That is how you are tuning your mind to show gratitude for tiniest blessing in your life. And repeat how grateful to have and love each other. It is the part I like the most. Love to learn what my 5 years old is happy to have. Children are amazing!
  3. Sense the gratitude: Standing in front of a mirror or just looking at each other, and focus on your eyes that can see, ears that can hear, a nose that can smell. My little toddler enjoys this part most!
  4. Learn positivity: Try to seek the positive out of every negative. List at least three good lessons from every painful experience and be grateful that life threw that situation at you so that you could learn. And then, move on.

Try to do this regularly together, it is really a joyful moment to share, show your love to your kids and help them express their feelings and frustrations they might have. You do not have to be a Muslim to do this, I thinks this is a good way to bond and learn positivity.

Ayeina #ElhamdulillahForSeries Mini Gratitude Journal is really helpful and show you how to proceed. My daughters fell in love instantly with the beautiful drawings and the simple but effective message. I have been lucky to be sent the digital copy and I have printed it as a book using Bonus Print. So I choose how to arrange the pages and the number of them. The digital copy costs only $7 and it costs me £2.99 to get it printed thanks to an Emma’s Diary Discount Code I had.

A printed copy is now available on Amazon.co.uk which is a great news!

I love this little journal and think it is a great gift idea for Eid. You only need a printer and here you go! I can assure you that you can do plenty of things with your digital copy. We are planning to print my daughter’s favourite pages and to frame them in her room.

How about you? How do you teach positivity to your child? :

Note : I have been generously sent the product above for this review purpose and I have reviewed it because I wanted. No compensation have been received for doing it.  All words (including spelling mistakes) and opinions are 100% my own and genuine.
